On to the block. This thing has a million pieces (okay, really only 49, but doesn't that sound like a lot??????), and it took me an hour and a half to press the fabric, traced the templates and cut it out. (Well, I did cut a few things for another project too, so maybe it was only an hour and 15 minutes.) And we all know how I feel about cutting. On to the pictures:
There are actually 4 of step one, but the other two pieces were shadowed pretty badly, so I cut them out of the pictures.
In this step, I forgot to show you what it looked like with only one of the sides sewed on. Sorry. Anyway, these all got sewed in a clockwise rotation. Very interesting.
This little Friendship Star is about 5 1/2 inches unfinished. It is cute.
Next I sewed the above chisel shapes and then turned them into rectangles in the next step, shown below.
All this and I actually saw a student today. Very productive. Hopefully tomorrow I will finish this block off. That should be fun!
