Before you read any further, allow me to tell you right up front that although I had my camera and my iPhone with me, I did not take a single picture. (I know, right?) There was plenty of eye candy there today, but I was a slacker. Or something like that.
Anyway, I spent a good hunk of today at a Paula Nadelstern trunk show. I love listening to her tell about her quiltmaking, and I love her quilts. So sitting and watching and listening today was a joy. And I did pick up three of her fabric panels. (I already have all of her books, so that was a nonstarter. And it was fun to see the finished quilt of the top that she showed us in Paducah last spring. I wish I could show it to you, but it is not yet available for public consumption so she asked us not to take pictures of it. Apparently, some quilt shows or contests will not accept a quilt if it has been shown on the internet first.
I also met up with a friend from elementary, junior high and high school days. (We actually went to the same university also, but didn't see each other as much there.) That was a fun catch up! We plan to get together again sooner than the 25 or so years that it has been since we last saw each other.
I have been working on paper piecing my niece's wedding quilt. So far, I am not a big fan of paper piecing. I hope that changes as I get more practice. (And since this quilt has 256 paper pieced sections, I should get a lot of practice!) I am getting faster at it and less obsessive about not wasting fabric. That should be good, right?
