Yesterday, I told you about the book I am currently reading and mentioned that I would suggest a few more historical (loosely, in some cases) romance books for light summer reading. I'm going to start with some of my very favorites. (Once again, all links are through my Amazon.com affiliate program.)
This first author is an all time favorite of mine. My dad even enjoyed some of her books because of the humor. Technically, her books are called Regency Romances because although they take place in the past, they do not really include any famous episodes from history - and their purpose is mainly the romance. Be that as it may, if you like a little romance that takes place in Regency England, Georgette Heyer is for you, especially which is also available as These Old Shades (Alastair Trilogy) Kindle version
in a Kindle version.
The other book of hers which I strongly recommend is , sort of a sequel to These Old Shades. It, too, is available in a Kindle edition, which you can get to from this link.
Apparently, there is a third book related to these two which I don't remember ever reading, but which is supposed to be part of this Alistair Trilogy, .
And, before we leave Georgette Heyer, let me just say that as much as I love almost all of her Regency Romances, I have never been able to appreciate her mysteries. If you find one you like, please let me know. Oh, and another of my favorites of hers is available as a free Kindle download:
This post is looking long enough. Maybe I will just be satisfied introducing you to the marvelous Georgette Heyer. My next post will be about quilting - I promise!
In the meantime - enjoy!
